Get help with recording or uploading

Camera permissions, file limits, interrupted uploads, and the safest next step.

Allow your camera and microphone

  1. Select Enable & record and allow the browser’s permission request. A video question needs both camera and microphone access; an audio question needs the microphone.
  2. If access was blocked, open this site’s permissions in your browser settings and allow the relevant device. Check that a camera or microphone is connected and available.
  3. If browser recording is unavailable, use Or upload an existing video or audio file. The alternative appears below the recorder when a recording is not being saved.

Check the file before uploading

  • Video uploads accept MP4 or WebM. Audio uploads accept supported MP3, M4A, WAV, WebM, and OGG files.
  • Use the size limit shown below the upload control. Hosted video allows up to 50 MB; hosted audio allows up to 20 MB.
  • The recording must be within the question’s duration limit. Renaming a file does not change its format or length.

If an upload stops or is still processing

  1. Keep the interview tab open. An unsaved recording preview lives in this page and may be lost if you reload or close it.
  2. Restore your connection, then use Retry upload when it appears. Keep the original file if you uploaded one.
  3. If the message says the recording is still processing, retry to check its status. You do not need to immediately record another take.
  4. Wait for Response saved before continuing to the next question. A progress bar at 100% can still mean the recording is being checked.

When the employer needs to help

An unavailable interview, an expired session, exhausted retakes, or a workspace allowance message may need the employer’s attention. Contact the person who sent your link and include the message you see, without sending private recordings through an unrelated channel.
