Understand response privacy and retention

Who can review answers, what consent covers, and how to ask for deletion.

The welcome page identifies the hiring organization and asks for agreement to collect and review your answers. Automated transcription has a separate, optional consent checkbox. You can complete an interview without agreeing to transcription.

The page also shows the organization’s current response-retention period. Contact that employer before starting if you have privacy questions or need an alternative interview format.

Answers belong in the hiring workspace

Candidate responses are reviewed through the employer’s authenticated workspace. The candidate’s interview session grants access to their own answers; it is not a public gallery of applications. Review notes and scores are private to the workspace.

Keep your interview tab and any exported candidate information private. Sharing a workspace password or a saved resume token can give another person access you did not intend.

How the retention setting works

New workspaces default to 90 days of response retention. The workspace owner can choose between 7 and 365 days in Settings. Submitted responses become eligible for cleanup after the configured period; unfinished applications become eligible after seven days.

Cleanup runs as a background task. Deletion of remotely stored media can take additional processing and retries, so eligibility is not a promise that every copy disappears at that exact moment. Shortening a retention period can make older responses eligible on the next cleanup run.

Ask the employer about deletion

Candidates should contact the employer who shared their interview link to request deletion or ask how the application is being used. The employer can delete a candidate response from the workspace; associated media cleanup is queued.

The public Privacy page explains the application’s current controls and operating limits. Your employer’s own hiring policies also matter when deciding what to submit.
